DR. C. RADCLIFFE JOHNSON
BATAVIA, New York, September 25, 1954 – Dr. C. Radcliffe Johnson, eye, ear, nose and throat specialist at the United States Veterans’ Hospital here, died last night. He was 61 years old.
He suffered a stroke last Wednesday while attending an entertainment at the hospital.
Surviving are his widow and a son, Major Radcliffe Johnson of the United States Army.
The body will be taken to Arlington National Cemetery for burial.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
