Franklin P. Hall III, 60, died as a result of a car accident February 21, 2005.
Franklin was the son of the late Franklin Pierce Hall II and Dorothy Harris Hall of Midlothian, Virginia, and was educated at the University of Richmond.
Franklin was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served his country. He was highly decorated with a Silver Star, four Bronze Medals and nine Purple Hearts.
Franklin leaves behind to cherish his memory his beautiful wife of 23 years, JoAnne. He was the very proud parent of his favorite child Paige; his favorite child, David; his favorite child, Pierce; and his favorite child, McKenzie. He is also survived by two sisters, Rebecca Jennings of Chase City and Anita Hill of Midlothian; mother and father-in-law, Anne and John McFarland of Virginia Beach; sister-in-law, Janice McElroy; brother-in-law, Gregory McElroy; along with several nieces, nephews and his favorite Christian dogs, Shadow and Baby.
Franklin was a local business owner of Pinnacle Online, Hampton Road host.net and the former owner of Hallmark Home Management of Virginia Beach and will be dearly missed by his business partners and employees. Franklin always brought a witty sense of humor and charm to everyone’s daily life. His friends will remember his comforting hugs,
positive words of encouragement and contagious charisma
A celebration of Franklin’s life will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Spring Branch Community Church, 1500 North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, with Pastor Michael Simone officiating. Expressions of sympathy and memorial donations can be made to the church building fund.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
