Born in 1832 in South Carolina. Married to Mary J. Children: William, South Carolina (1854); Thomas Jefferson, South Carolina, (1856); Elizabeth, South Carolina, (1858); Henrietta, Georgia (1860); James, Georgia. In the 1860 Census he was listed as a farmer at Calhoun, Georgia.
Private Thomas Rodgers – Company G, Georgia 21st Infantry Division (Dabney Rifles). Wounded at Manassas, Virginia, 28 August 1862. Prisoner-of-war at Fort Stedman, Virginia. Died, 29 April 1865 of erysipelas at Lincoln United States Army Army General Hospital, Washington D.C. Interred at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
