Sergeant Grayson was a member of Company A, 8th Engineer Combat Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division.
He was Killed in Action when a bobby-trapped hand grenade exploded in the vicinity of the “Wyoming Line” in North Korea on October 2, 1951.
Sergeant Grayson was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
NOTE: His father, Thomas Jackson Grayson, Sr., Brigadier General, United States Army, is buried adjacent to the Sergeant in Section 34 of Arlington National Cemetery.
