MAJOR F. V. KRUG DEAD
Had Served in Philippine Insurrection and the World War

WASHINGTON, March 19, 1930 – The War Department was notified today of the death in Paris on Monday of Major Frederick V. Krug, retired, at the age of 67.

Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on August 28, 1863, Major Krug entered the Army from civil life in 1884 as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry, was retired in 1908 for disability incurred in the line of duty, and was recalled to active duty during the World War.

A Silver Star citation for gallantry in action against insurgents at Cainta, Luzon, Philippine Islands, in 1899 was awarded him.

Major Krug will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery at Washington according to a dispatch from Paris, where he had been living for some time.  He died in the American Hospital.
