Retired Lieutenant Colonel Floyd V. Perrine Sr., 82, of 3060 Castleton Drive, and formerly of 186 Colonial Drive, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, October 8, 1998, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida.
Born September 15, 1916, in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Clarence and Inez Davis Perrine.
His wife, June E. Thomas Perrine, died in 1996.
He was a graduate of Kansas State University in Kansas City, Kansas.
He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, retiring after 30 years of service. He served in World War II and the Korean conflict.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Tokyo, Japan, and numerous military organizations.
He is survived by one daughter, Joyce Kolifrath of Prescott, Arizona; one son, Floyd U. Perrine Jr. of Prescott; three grandchildren, Colby Conkwright of Bradenton, whom he and his wife raised, Shawn Perrine of Anchorage, Alaska, and Heather Lynn Perrine-Gutlerrez of Caracas, Venezuela.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg. The Rev. Stephen W. Hoffman will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be Wednesday, October 21, at 1 p.m. in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
