Marvis Charles Morrison – Colonel, United States Air Force

From a contemporary press report:

Marvis C. Morrison, 81, an Air Force Colonel who retired in 1966 from the Pentagon comptroller’s office, died of congestive heart failure December 13, 2001 at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Virginia. He lived in the  Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County.

Colonel Morrison flew 55 missions in Europe and Africa during World War II and later served as air division comptroller in Korea. After he retired, he was a cost analyst with the Defense Department.

He was born in Turlock, California, and was a graduate of the University of Southern California.

Colonel Morrison’s honors included a Distinguished Flying Cross and four Air Medals. He was a member of the First Fighter Group Association, 27th Fighters Association and Society for Industrial  Management.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Audrey Morrison of Alexandria; two children, Kim Morrison  Bell of Alexandria and Brian Morrison of Greensboro, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
