Daniel Kepner Lessig, First Lieutenant, United States Marine Corps. From Pennsylvania. June 15, 1937-Oct 1963.
In October 1963, he volunteered to take his helicopter out in a search for the downed aircraft with a United States Air Force Officer on board. The jungle where the aircraft was located was in the hands of Viet Cong but he kept up his search until he found the plane. He encountered enemy forces and his ship was shot down. He was awarded Navy Commendation Medal posthumously.
He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Section 35, Grave 2487.
Daniel Kepner Lessig was born on June 25, 1937 and joined the Armed Forces while in West Reading, Pennsylvania.
He served as an aviator in the United States Marine Corps. In three years of service, he attained the rank of First Lieutenant.
On October 8, 1963, at the age of 26, Daniel Kepner Lessig perished in the service of our country in South Vietnam, Quang Nam.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
