COLONEL EDGAR F. HAINES DIES
Commanding Officer of Tilton Hospital in Army 33 Years
FORT DIX, New Jersey, July 22, 1943 – Colonel Edgar F. Haines, 60 years old, of 34 Garden Street, Mount Holly, Commanding Officer at Tilton General Hospital, died tonight at the hospital.
A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Colonel Haines was graduated from Boston University. He had served in the Army Medical Corps for thirty-three years at posts in China, the Philippines, Washington, Boston and many other places.
He leaves a widow, Mrs. Natalie Haines, and a daughter, who is the wife of Captain Don F. Taylor of the Coast Artillery.
Military funeral services will be held Sunday at the Tilton Hospital Chapel. Burial will be Monday in Arlington National Cemetery.
