George Clark was a General in the 34th Iowa Regiment in the Civil War and was appointed United States Marshal of the state of Iowa at the close of the war.
Clark was buried in Arlington Cemetery by his brother, Captain James Samuel Clark, who raised the three orphaned children.
George Washington Clark and Sara E. Robinson were married in 1880. Sara E. Robinson was born in 1853. She died in 1895.
