Walter King Wilson III (born 1937) graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1960 with a commission in the Infantry. He later transferred to the Corps of Engineers. He served with the Military Assistance Advisory Group in China (1967-1969), and was on the faculty of the engineering department at West Point (1971-1975) before moving to Louisville Engineer District as Deputy District Engineer (1975-1978). Since 1980 he has been the Engineer at the 21st Support Command installation in Manheim, Germany.

The Colonel’s father, Walter King Wilson, Jr., Lieutenant General, United States Army, and his grandfather, Walter King Wilson, Major General, United States Army, are also buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
