George Russell Callender (1884-1973)
Born in Everett, Massachusetts on May 13, 1884.
M.D. from Tufts College in 1908. Commissioned in the Medical Reserve Corps in 1912. Graduated from the Army Medical School in 1913. Served in the Hawaii Department 1916-1918. Pathologist at Army Medical Center in 1939.
Assistant Commandant, then Commandant of Medical Department Professional Service Schools 1940-1946.
Retired in November 1946. Brigadier General in March 1945. Decorations included the Distinguished Service Medal. Author of Malaria in Panama (1929).
Died on February 26, 1973.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
