Hoel Smith Bishop, Jr. – Colonel, United States Army

Hoel Smith Bishop, Jr. was born in Texas on December 1895, the son of Hoel Smith Bishop, Colonel, United States Army.  He was appointed to the United States Military Academy from Texas and graduated in the class of 1918.  He progressed through the rank to Colonel and died in Washington, D. C. on 28 June 1970.  He was buried with full military honors in a site adjacent to his parents in Arlington National Cemetery.

Michael Robert Patterson

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
