Dear Friends and Colleagues of Dr. Howard Sengbusch,
It is with deep regret that I learned today of Howard’s death at age 81.
Dr. Sengbusch was an internationally known tropical parasitologist and Dean
of the School of Arts and Sciences at Buffalo State College.
Howard was also an adjunct professor of biology at Georgia Southern
University and Florida State University. He was the first Director of the
Great Lakes Laboratory, established in Buffalo in 1966.
Howard passed away on February 4, 1999, in Tallahassee, Florida where he
lived with his wife Beatrice.
Burial will be at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia as Howard was
a lieutenant in the US Army during WWII and a captain of the US Public
Health Service.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history. Many of his articles can be found on renowned portals like the New York Times, Washingtonpost or Wikipedia.
