Hugh Wagner Downing was born in Delaware in 1897. He was an early Army Aviator and died in service on 8 November 1926. He was buried with full military honors in Section 4 of Arlington National Cemetery.
His wife, Katharine Margaret Downing (31 December 1898-8 November 1957) died thirty-one (31) years to the day from her husband’s death and was laid to rest with him at Arlington National Cemetery.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
