The first wife of General of the Army Omar Nelson Bradley, she was born in 1892, and they were married on December 28, 1916.
By the fall of 1965, then 73, she was not well. In late November she entered Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Four days later, on December 1, one year shy of her golden wedding anniversary, she died of virulent leukemia.
She was buried in Section 30 of Arlington National Cemetery.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
