John Elliot Fuller – Lieutenant Colonel, United States Army

From a contemporary press report:

John Elliot Fuller, 86, who retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1960 and then was an intelligence research specialist for the Army’s Intelligence Threat and Analysis Center until 1986, died of congestive heart failure September 2, 2002, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He lived in Annandale, Virginia.

Colonel Fuller was born in Salem, Oregon, and graduated from the University of Maryland.

He served in the South Pacific during World War II and in Korea during the war there. He was also posted to Heidelberg, Germany, and Sendai, Japan.

His honors included three Bronze Stars, an Air Medal, two Army Commendation Medals and the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal.

He was a member of the Retired Officers Association and the Washington Numismatic Society.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Doris Linn Fuller of Annandale; two sons, John E. Fuller Jr. of Silver Spring and James W. Fuller of Annandale; a brother; a sister; and three grandchildren.
