Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 18, 1835, but Pension Records show 1854.
Enlisted on March 13, 1876, at age 21, in Baltimore by Lieutenant William Wallace. His previous occupation was laborer. He was assigned to Company B, 7th US Cavalry and was discharged March 12, 1881, at Fort Yates, Dakota Territory, upon expiration of service as a Private of excellent character.
He had blue eyes, brown hair, ruddy complexion and was 5’9″ in height. Died on December 10, 1922 in Washington, DC. He was a watchman in the US Bureau of Printing and Engraving at the time of his death. Buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Section 17, Grave 20,145.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
