Anderson, John – Appointed 1st Corporal of Company E, 3d Regiment Georgia State Troops, October 14, 1861. Mustered out at Savannah, Georgia, April 1862. Enlisted as a Private in Company K, 44th Regiment Georgia Infantry, May 1, 1862. Appointed 4th Sergeant, May 10, 1862; 3d Sergeant in 1864. Wounded and captured at Wilderness, Virginia, May 5, 1864. Admitted to 2d Division, 5th A. C. Hospital, May 6, 1864 ; to Armory Square U.S.A. General Hospital, Washington, D. C., with wound in right shoulder, May 26, 1864, and died there of wounds May 27, 1864. Buried in Arlington, Virginia.
