General Jonathan Waverly Anderson, Sr

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Class of 1911, he requested a commission in the U.S. Army, and was assigned to the Cavalry. While stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, he met and married Dorothy Morgan (born 27 March 1896, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri; she died 27 March 1987, Derry, New Hampshire), daughter of Colonel George Horace Morgan (Medal of Honor recipient) and Mary “Mollie” Brownson.
He retired in 1945 as a Major General. They have three children: Dorothy Delaney Anderson (born 25 Feb 1916 at Manila, Philippine Islands), Jonathan W. Anderson, Jr. (born 14 March 1920, Fort Sill, Oklahoma), and Mary Bachman “Sally” Anderson (born 3 October 1922, Washington, D.C.). Dorthy Delaney Anderson married General Andrew Jackson Goodpaster. Jonathan W. Anderson, Jr. married Rosalind Zollar. Mary Bachman Anderson married Colonel (USAF) Freeman W. Bowley, Jr.
Dorothy Morgan Anderson

Death: March. 27, 1987 Derry, Rockingham County, New Hampshire
The daughter of Colonel George Horace Morgan and Mary “Mollie” Brownson Morgan. She met and married Second Lieutenant Jonathan Waverly Anderson on 16 May 1915, at Fort Bliss, near El Paso, Texas. Lieutenant Anderson was a 1911 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, who had requested a commission in the U.S. Army Cavalry upon his graduation. He retired as a Major General in 1945.
They had three children: Dorothy Delaney Anderson (born 25 Feb 1916, Manila, Luzon, Philippines), Jonathan W. Anderson II (born 14 March 1920, Fort Sill, Oklahoma), and Mary Bachman “Sally” Anderson (born 3 October 1922, Washington DC).

DOROTHY MORGAN. She was born on 27 March 1896 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. She married then 2nd Lieutenant Jonathan Waverly Anderson (born 7 June 1891) on 16 May 1915 at Fort Bliss, Texas. She died on 27 March 1987 at her home in New Hampshire, and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery next to her husband. Jonathan Waverly Anderson had a long military career, arising to the rank of Major General, and died on 13 June 1967. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Together, they had three children: She is buried next to her husband in Arlington National Cemetery.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
