Glen C. Long, Brigadier General U.S. Army, retired, passed away Saturday, July 30, 1988 at Fort Ord, California.
Glen was born to Calr and Bessie Long on August 16, 1918 in the Sunny Point Community. Long graduated from Sweetwater in 1936 and Oklahoma A&M in 1940. His military career spanned more than 30 years and included 3 wars. Among his many medals and awards include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Distinguished Service Cross and Legion of Merit.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Elizabeth in 1975. Survivors include his wife, Coren, of the home; one son Captain Glen C. Long of West Point, New York and one brother, Lynn of Tulsa.
Services will be held Friday, August 5, 1988 at the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. In palce of flowers, friends are aked to contribute to the V.F.W. or the American Legion.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
