DoD Identifies Army Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the death of four soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died February 8, 2008, in Taji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when their vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.

Killed were:

Corporal Michael T. Manibog, 31, of Alameda, California, who was assigned to 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Sergeant Timothy P. Martin, 27, of Pixley, California, who was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Staff Sergeant Jerald A. Whisenhunt, 32, of Orrick, Missouri, who was assigned to 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Sergeant Gary D. Willett, 34, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, who was assigned to 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
