CARLTON, THOMAS R, Private, Company B, 37th Regiment, N.C. Troops. Born in Watauga County* where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in Watauga County at age 20, September 14, 1861. Mustered in as 1st Sergeant. Reduced to ranks in March-April, 1862. Captured at or near Frayser’s Farm, Virginia, on or about June 30, 1862. Confined ai: Fort Columbus, New York Harbor. Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
