Barbara (Bobbie) Burgess Lee of Williamsburg, Virginia, age 96, died on May 25, 2001. She was the widow of Major General Robert Vernon Lee who retired as The Adjutant General, United States Army and the daughter of the late Colonel Louis Ray Burgess and Florence Davis Burgess.
She is survived by her son, Colonel Robert Vernon Lee, Jr. United States Army (retired) and his wife Cynthia; a daughter Mary Lee Suiter and her husband William, all of Williamsburg; a granddaughter Susan-Lee Merrow; a grandson the Rev. Dr. Robert V. Lee III and his wife Mirte; and four great grandchildren.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemtery.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
