HUTCHINSON RITES IN CAPITAL
WASHINGTON, May 28, 1958 – William K. Hutchinson, reporter and news executive, was buried today with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. Vice President Richard M. Nixon headed the dignitaries who joined in the farewell tribute.
Mr. Hutchinson died on a heart ailment last Sunday at the age of 62. He served in the Army in World War I and had been chief of the Washington Bureau of International News Service since 1939 and a top political writer and reporter for nineteen years earlier.
The Rev. John Golding, pastor of St. Thomas Protestant Episcopal Church, conducted the services.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history. Many of his articles can be found on renowned portals like the New York Times, Washingtonpost or Wikipedia.
