Awarded the Medal of Honor on March 10, 1896, for service at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 3, 1863 while serving as a Corporal with Company A, 108th New York Volunteer Infantry. He was born in Penfield, New York on May 30, 1844.
He died on December 7, 1906 and was buried in Section 2 of Arlington National Cemetery. His wife, Olive A. Raymond, who died on December 15, 1913 is buried alongside him.
