Carl Adolph Baehr – Brigadier General, United States Army

Carl Adolph Baehr (1885-1959). Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 28, 1885.

Commissioned in the Infantry from West Point in 1909. Commanded a Battalion of the 3rd Field Artillery in France during World War I.

Graduated from Command and General Staff School in 1923 and the Army War College in 1926. Chief of Staff of the Philippine Division 1938-1940. Commander of 71st Field Artillery Brigade April 1941-February 1944. Brigadier General in December 1941. Artillery commander of VI Corps 1944-1945.

Retired in June 1946. Decorations included the Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star.  Died December 22, 1959.
