My name is Nicholas Lewis, I am seventeen years old and I currently live in Luxembourg. I came across your website while searching for information concerning Frank Lewis who served as Captain in Company M, 4th U. S. Infantry, 3rd Division during the Meusse-Argonne Offensive in World War One and came across information concerning him.
Frank Lewis is my great great uncle, and passed down to my family are his Distinguished Service Cross, his dog-tag, and several letters concerning his death and service.
I took great interest in his life, and am trying to create an extended essay concerning his life during the war and the offensive that took place. However the information I have is limited, focusing mostly on what happened after he was badly wounded. I was wondering as to whether you had any additional information you could send to me concerning either him, his army division, or any information concerned what his army division was doing at the time of his death. Any information you could send me or any websites you could direct me to concerning him or his division at all would be of great help.
Sincerely,
Nicholas Lewis
P.S.- I notice that you state on Frank Lewis’s page that you are seeking any additional information concerning Captain Lewis. If you are interested, after finishing my report I would be happy to pass it on, including any primary sources or pictures of either the medals or of Frank Lewis himself that you may want to include on his page.
