RITES HELD FOR GENERAL CARROLL
WASHINGTON, September 20, 1954 – Brigadier General Paul T. Carroll, a friend and assistant to President Eisenhower, was buried with military honors in Arlington National Cemetery today. The 44-year-old officer died Friday after having suffered a heart attack.
A funeral service was held this morning at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center Chapel.
Present at the graveside ceremonies were General Matthew B. Ridgway, Chief of Staff; Hugh Milton and George Roderick, Assistant Secretaries of the Army; Lieutenant General Floyd Parks, Second Army Commander, President Eisenhower’s personal military representative, and Presidential Assistant Sherman Adams.
