Technical Sergeant John Thomas Blankinship, United States Air Force (August 25, 1914-April 25, 1985) spent 20 years in the US Air Force. Sergeant Blankinship retired in August 1965. He died on 25 April 1985 and was laid to rest with military honors in Arlington National Cemetery.
Sergeant Blankinship was born in Amherst, Virginia, and passed away in Pensacola, Florida.
His wife, Agatha “Ditsy” Coleman Blankinship, who was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, (July 24, 1914-November 6, 1997) passed away in Alexandria, Virginia, and is buried with her husband at Arlington.

We frequently visit Arlington, because my Mother and Dad are there and my late brother-in-law, Bernard Lukasik and his wife, who is my twin sister, is buried with him

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
