The daughter of Major General David Dixon Porter, she was born on February 4, 1918 and died of cancer at Portland, Maine, October 30, 1949.
During World War II she was Assistant Staff Director of the Philadelphia Red Cross Chapter.
She is buried near her father in Section 2 of Arlington National Cemetery.
PORTLAND, Maine – October 30, 1949- Miss Carlile Patterson Porter of Philadelphia and Prout’s Neck, Scarboro, Maine, died here today in a hospital at the age of 31.
During the recent war, Miss Porter was Assistant Staff Director of the Philadelphia Red Cross Chapter. She was a member of the Junior League, theAcorn Club and the Colonial Dames in that city.
She was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late General David D. and Mrs. Winifred M. Porter. There are no immediate survivors.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
