Theodore Anderson Baldwin, Jr. – Colonel, United States Air Force

Theodore Anderson Baldwin, Jr. the son of Theodre Anderson Baldwin, Brigadier General, United States Army, was born on 1 August 1878 at Montana Territory. He first saw military service in the Spanish-American War where he was wounded in Cuba while accompanying his Father there.

He was commissioned in the Army Air Service in 1907 after graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He was considered an aviation pioneer and served as a pilot in lighter-tna-air craft.  He served in the Air Section of the the Army Signal Corps during World War I and commanded Orly Field at the end of the war.

He was married to Agnes Judge of Salt Lake City, Utah, and was the father of Theodore Anderson Baldwin III, Elizabeth F. Gray and Richard H. Baldwin.  He lives at frequent intervals in New York City and Washington, D.C.

Colonel Baldwin retired after serving for 30 years in the Army Air Corps and died of a heart attack in New York City on 1 December 1957.

Michael Robert Patterson

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
