William Strayhorn, Private, Co. H, 15th NC Inf, born in Alamance Co., NC where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in Alamance Co. at age 19, May 21, 1861. Present and accounted for until captured at Bristoe Station, Va, Oct 14, 1863. Confined at Old Capitol Prison, Washington, DC, Oct 15, 1863. Died in hospital at Washington on Jan 21, 1864 of diarrhea chronica.
